When using the Screen Sharing function by cannyboard, some settings on your own device should be taken into account so that the screen can be transferred correctly to the Sessionboard.
Go through the following points if there are problems with the screen transfer:
Please note: First make sure that you have started the Screen Sharing function on the Sessionboard and selected the source you want to use (HDMI or wireless).
Check connections
The Screen Sharing by cannyboard can be used with an HDMI cable or wirelessly via WiFi connection. Check the connection between your own device and the Sessionboard.
When using an HDMI cable:
Make sure that the HDMI cable is properly connected to your laptop / PC and to the HDMI-In port of the Sessionboard. If you are using an adapter, check its functionality and reconnect it if necessary.
Please note: Use the supplied HDMI cable to ensure that the HDMI signal is transferred correctly.
For connection via WLAN:
Check that you have selected the correct network for the WiFi connection and that the connection is established. Also check whether you have correctly executed the screen transfer on your end device.
Mirror screens
Screen mirroring plays an important role in both wireless and HDMI cable connections. While the image is automatically transferred synchronously on the screen of the Sessionboard when connecting mobile devices wirelessly, you can choose between different types of screen display on desktop devices (laptop / PC):
- Extended desktop:
The screen of the Sessionboard is used as an extended desktop. You then have two independent workspaces on which different content is displayed. Therefore, the content of your laptop / PC will not be displayed on the screen of the Sessionboard.
- Mirrored displays:
By activating mirrored displays, all displays show the same content. All screen contents of your own device are also displayed in the Screen Sharing window of the Sessionboard.
Please note: This option is especially important on desktop devices (laptop / PC). Mobile devices automatically mirror their screen as soon as it is transmitted wirelessly.
To set the screen mirroring of your laptop / PC connected wirelessly or via HDMI cable, proceed as follows:
MacOS
- Chosse the Apple menu on your Mac and then "System Preferences".
- Click "Displays" and the "Arrangement" tab.
- Make sure that the "Mirror Displays" checkbox is selected.
Please note: If your laptop / PC is wirelessly connected to the network, you also have to select the Sessionboard from the drop-down list "AirPlay Display".
Windows 10
- Press the Windows Logo key + P.
- Choose "Duplicate" as a way to project.
Adjust screen resolution
If the screen resolution is set incorrectly on your laptop / PC, the screen may be displayed incorrectly or distorted on the Sessionboard.
MacOS
Please note that two setting windows open for the monitors - one for each device (laptop / PC or Sessionboard). Make the settings in the window of the cannyboard monitor.
- Chosse the Apple menu on your Mac and then "System Preferences".
- Click "Displays" and the "Display" tab.
- Normally the resolution optimized for the Sessionboard is preselected. Select "Scaled" to manually select a resolution from the list.
Windows 10
- Right-click on a free area of the desktop. Select "Display settings".
- Scroll down in the "Display" category until you reach the screen resolution settings and select the desired resolution from the drop-down menu.
