In order for Video Calls by cannyboard to work properly, certain internet access requirements must be met.
Please note: In order to be able to join a Video Call via laptop / PC, you need Google Chrome as your browser.
Network settings
In addition, your firewall must be configured in such a way that it allows access from your company network to the corresponding destinations and ports. Otherwise, there may be connection problems with the Video Call. If these ports cannot be opened, at least a release of tcp/443 is necessary (the videocall tool performs a fallback for this).
Enable the following ports:
Port(s) |
Type |
Description |
443 | TCP | HTTPS |
17990 |
TCP | Vidyo Signaling |
17992 |
TCP | Vidyo Signaling |
1025-2048 |
TCP | H245, Gatekeeper DIscovery and Q.931 Call Setup |
5060-5061 |
TCP | SIP Signaling |
50000-65535 |
UDP | Media |
You can find more information on this topic here, on the page of our integrated Video Call service. In particular, the following must be taken into account:
- Your firewall must allow websocket communication (WSS) in addition to HTTPS communication.
- For Vidyo endpoints, if the ports listed above are not allowed, the endpoint will try falling back to VidyoProxy using only 443.
- Some firewalls may misclassify the media traffic and apply a UDP default timeout. In these cases, Video Calls will always drop at exactly the same time. To avoid call timeouts, change the default (0:02:00 – 2 minutes) to a time that is longer than the longest potential Video Call.
