CONTENT
What content do I need for my first Session?
Classics of quick Session preparation
With cannyboard, you have many possibilities to display, create and edit content – from fast and easy to sophisticated and detailed.
What content can I use?
What content do groups work with on cannyboard? Basically there are three types of content:
- Input – information that is prepared in advance and serves as a basis for the work of the Session. Examples: Whole presentations, quarterly figures, inspiration video, etc.
- Results – i.e. content contributed and processed during the Session. Examples: Timelines, task list, brainstorming ideas, etc.
- Methods – i.e. techniques and tools that structure the Session and with the help of which individual goals should be achieved. Examples: Session agenda, four-field matrix, business model canvas, etc.
All contents of these categories can be transferred either via Screen Sharing from a laptop to the Sessionboard or placed directly on the Workspace as Notes or on Sheets.
a) Content from your Laptop, Tablet & Smartphone via Screen Sharing
The following applies: You can share what you can view on your personal device with the group via the Sessionboard. This means that almost everything that you have saved or can call up on your personal device will be the subject of group work:
Local content on your hard drive:
- Slide presentations (PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi etc.)
- Documents (Word, Excel, PDF etc.)
- Movies (via your player, e.g. Windows Media Player, QuickTime etc.)
- 3D data (e.g. CAD, Sketchup etc.)
Online content via browser:
- Cloud documents (e.g. via Google Drive, iCloud, etc.)
- Web content (e.g. YouTube, Wikipedia etc.)
b) Written Text and Drawings on Sheets
On Sheets, you can do everything digitally you would have used a flip chart or whiteboard for. Without much preparation, for spontaneous lettering, for example:
- Collecting ideas
- Writing down proposals
- Summary of the most important results
- Spontaneous sketching of ideas
- Visualization of correlations
- etc.
You can also use Sheets to visualize posters, methods or content input for the upcoming Session:
- Agenda of group work
- Tools such as SWOT analysis, BCG matrix
- Theme Posters
- Voting posters
- etc.
c) Text, Images, Videos and PDFs as Notes
On cannyboard you can easily add text, images, videos and PDFs: You simply send them as Notes to the Workspace. Your content is flexible and available for group work.
What content do I need for my first Session?
To add content for your first Session, ask yourself the following questions:
How will the Session run or be structured?
- You can prepare an agenda for the content / time sections.
- You can prepare content for certain sections, e.g. a presentation or similar.
What kind of group work is on the agenda?
- Is there more frontal information or interactive exchange?
- Do you work with existing content or do you have to develop new content?
Which result should be available at the end of the Session?
- Do the participants need a common information stand?
- Do we need certain methods to achieve our goals?
On the basis of these three questions, you can now make a selection of contents that will help you to reach your goal faster and easier during the Session.
